The Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy, Ms Samantha Graham-Maré today officially opened the Learners Focus Week Programme (LFWP) held at Nelson Mandela University, where 300 learners from Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Free State, Limpopo, North-West and Gauteng provinces have gathered to explore career opportunities and developments in South Africa’s electricity and energy sector.
In her opening address, the Deputy Minister expressed her delight at returning to the Eastern Cape and warmly welcomed the learners to what she described as a significant opportunity to explore their future possibilities. The LFWP forms part of the Department’s commitment to developing future talent, promoting skills in the electricity and energy sector, and inspiring young South Africans to pursue careers that will contribute to the country’s energy security and economic growth.
