CITY OF JOHANNESBURG DEBT AND ESKOM POWER SUPPLY WAY-FORWARD
Members of the media are cordially invited to a doorstop interaction with the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa; the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Dada Morero; and the Group Chief Executive of Eskom, Dan Marokane. The interaction will take place at the conclusion of a follow-up meeting scheduled for 26 May 2026, at the City Power Head Offices in Johannesburg.
The session will address the outstanding debt between the City of Johannesburg and Eskom. This follows an earlier meeting to discuss ongoing concerns arising from Eskom’s announcement of a potential suspension of power supply to the city due to unpaid electricity bills.
